ABOUT.

Krystle Gohel is a British contemporary artist based in Kent whose work explores the emotional landscape of human connection.
Her pieces occupy a fragile space where intimacy meets uncertainty and desire coexists with detachment. Drawing on the push and pull of personal dynamics, she creates work that is visually bold and psychologically rooted in the complexity of the human psyche.
Her practice spans painting, digital illustration and handwritten text. Each piece develops through movement, mark-making and internal rhythm, taking shape through response rather than fixed intention. Some works are pared back and direct, while others are dense and layered, built through vivid colour, gestural marks and unpredictable shifts. Across these forms, imperfection is not corrected but allowed to carry meaning.
After studying art and media design, Krystle moved from Manchester to London and built a career spanning twenty years as a makeup artist, working internationally across fashion, music, editorial and live performance. That career took her across the world and brought her into contact with different cultures, people and visual environments, sharpening her understanding of identity, presence and vulnerability.
Her work is both autobiographical and observational, drawing from lived experience, emotional memory and the traces that people and places leave behind. Influenced by urban spaces and global street art, she photographs textures, surfaces and everyday details while travelling, later repurposing them within her digital work. Rather than documenting experience literally, she transforms it through images and words, creating work that remains deeply personal while leaving space for the viewer to recognise something of their own.
